About Caribou

Caribou is an AI-powered patient care platform addressing critical gaps in the healthcare system by transforming diagnoses into personalized, holistic wellness plans. The platform bridges the disconnect between clinical consultations and daily health management, enabling patients to achieve better outcomes through accessible, achievable, and autonomous care.

Role Overview

As the Clinical Operations Manager for Caribou, you would be the main liaison between the company and key patient groups. This role asks you to bring together mixed methods research experience (i.e. survey design, community engagement, quantitative analysis) with the leadership tasks involved with managing an intern. As a small team, this role will be supervised directly by the co-founders, who bring backgrounds in public health, community health, patient-centred design, and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Validation & Research Operations

  • Coordinate the planning and execution of validation studies for Caribou Health across community health settings, including university sports medicine clinics, physical therapy practices, and local health networks
  • Assist in the development and refinement of study protocols, validation frameworks, and consent documentation to support product testing and evidence generation
  • Maintain organized study records, partner site documentation, ethics submissions, and project files in accordance with research ethics and data privacy requirements
  • Prepare and submit research ethics applications, amendments, progress reports, and study-related documentation
  • Oversee collection, entry, and verification of participant and site data related to app usability, engagement, and health outcomes using electronic data capture systems and internal dashboards
  • Collaborate with the Community & Content Manager to create patient engagement materials, as needed

Participant & Site Coordination

  • Coordinate recruitment, screening, and onboarding of study participants across partner clinics in alignment with eligibility criteria and study goals
  • Facilitate participant engagement throughout app validation studies, including scheduling check-ins, collecting feedback, and supporting retention and adherence
  • Act as the main point of contact for clinic partners, patients, and end users participating in pilot and validation activities
  • Support implementation of app workflows in clinical environments and gather feedback from patients and providers to optimize usability and adoption
  • Ensure all validation activities comply with applicable privacy regulations, research ethics standards, and organizational quality procedures

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary liaison between partner clinics, university health networks, product teams, and leadership to coordinate study activities and communicate progress
  • Provide regular updates on participant enrollment, site performance, and validation outcomes to internal stakeholders

Compensation & Equity

This is currently a volunteer engagement, to be re-negotiated upon funding procurement. The role includes a phantom equity grant of 0.2% of fully diluted equity, vesting over a 2-year period with a 6-month cliff (25% vests at the cliff; the remaining 75% vests in equal monthly installments over the following 18 months). Full terms are set out in the Phantom Equity Agreement.
